New rules make construction sites safer in New York

According to data from the New York City Department of Buildings, there has been a 300 percent increase in construction since 2009. As a result, there are increased opportunities for workers to get hurt on the job. Aware of this fact, the New York Building Congress issued a statement saying that worker safety should be a priority and that worker injuries shouldn't be seen as a byproduct of a construction boom.

Law enforcement will be focusing on truck safety

The annual event is meant to help increase driver awareness about bad driving and to decrease the incidence of injury accidents.
